PRS dates back to its founding in 1936 in Warsaw. After the end of World War II, PRS revived its activity in 1946, in a changed and extended form with the reinstatement of the institution under the name Polski Rejestr Statkow S.A. seated in Gdansk. In 1954 the institution, by decision of then Authorities, was transformed into a State Enterprise.
