Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services UK (CPS UK), the leading provider of safety, compliance and quality assurance services, has named the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) as its chosen charity for 2012. Bureau Veritas will donate £5 to the children’s charity for each person attending one of its UK seminars scheduled through 2012.

Founded in 1853, The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust offers financial support to the children of parents who work in the UK fashion and textile industry in its broadest sense. The charity can provide grants to support the children of employees within this industry. Whether it is a respite for a child who is registered carer for their parent, or a young person struggling to cope with an illness or disability, the grants they provide make a big difference.

Anna Pangbourne, Director of Fashion and Textile Children’s Trust comments: ‘‘We are very proud to have received the backing of Bureau Veritas CPS UK, a company that has a close connection to the fashion industry. As a charity, we are a very small team and are always looking at ways to spread the word, about the work we do and how we can support the children of the people working within the industry. This partnership is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of FTCT among many more employees, from across the sector, who otherwise it would have been impossible for us to reach’‘.

Jonathon Thackray, Sales & Business Development Director at Bureau Veritas CPS UK adds: ‘‘It is a pleasure for us to support FTCT. Our seminars are attended by many employees from the textile industry, whether they are importers, designers, manufacturers or retailers of fashion products and we hope that this initiative will help promote FTCT’s fantastic work.’‘
